Hi, I’m Alonso. After 6 months of coding during late nights and weekends, I’m excited to share Skyhunt, an app that compares flight prices across 30+ countries by automatically using VPNs.

The idea came from my frustration with manually switching VPNs and searching for the same flights on platforms like Skyscanner to find the lowest prices. Skyhunt automates this process, saving time and money by showing the best global deals in one place.

Key features:

* Automated VPN searches: Compare prices in multiple countries effortlessly.

* Save time: No more repetitive manual searches.

* Optimize costs: Take advantage of regional price differences to find the lowest fares.

Skyhunt is perfect for frequent travelers like me or anyone looking to explore the world while spending less. It’s currently in a functional beta stage, and I’d love to get feedback from the community to make it even better.

You can try Skyhunt here: https://skyhunt.app/

If you have any questions or suggestions, I’d be happy to answer them in the comments. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!

It says you are using Skyscanner, but in your search box I can't find Miami International Airport but I can find it using Skyscanner. Skyscanner also returns better results in the autocomplete. It shows relevant airports first, yours seems to show them in some other predefined order. For instance, when I search Philadelphia I get a local small airport first (the main airport is the last one in the list), but when I search in Skyscanner the main airport shows up first.

Other issues:

1. After I searched once, I was not able to search again from the same page (the search button does nothing)

2. The first search took about 1 minute to see results

3. I can only search one-way?

4. I can't change the currency

5. I can't see pricing with bags included (google does this)

6. I can't filter results (eg. can't see only direct flights)

7. I can't select the number of passengers

8. There might be a typo here "32 find flights cheaper"

9. I don't know if the flight time is my local time or some other time

I honestly don't see the difference between this and a service such as google flights (or the 100 other similar services).

    Hello,

Thank you for your valuable feedback!

Firstly, please note that we are still in the development phase, so many of the features you mentioned are not yet implemented. However, we appreciate your suggestions, and several of them are already in our backlog as we recognize their importance. Here's a point-by-point response:

    1. We will investigate the search button issue to ensure it works correctly in all scenarios.

2.The search process currently takes longer because we aim to provide not only prices in your local country but also compare prices across 30 different countries. This ensures you always get the best deal.

3-7. Many of these points are already in our backlog, and we agree they would enhance the user experience. (Regarding point 5, we hadn't considered this yet, but we appreciate the suggestion and will evaluate its feasibility. Thank you!)

    8. The text "32 find flights cheaper" will be corrected.

    9. We will make it clear whether flight times are displayed in local or destination time.

    Thank you very much! Alonso

Seems to be missing quite a few airports. Tried to look at flights from Amsterdam to Washington DC area and it couldn't find Dulles or Baltimore. Where is the list coming from?

Hello, it was true. I made some improvements and change the api. All the airports mentioned in this post are included now.

    Miami International (MIA)

    Washington Dulles (IAD)

    Baltimore Washington International (BWI)

Additionally, I’ve changed the order in which the airports are displayed. I also resolved the issue with Philadelphia International (PHL) that appeared in a previous response.

    Thanks for helping!

Hello again, I built Skyhunt because I was tired of wasting hours planning international trips trying to find the best price. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the project or any suggestions for improvement.

Thanks for your time!

Why put a price to something available for free?

With SkyHunt, you can save a lot of time while searching for the best flight prices across 30 countries.

Think of it like buying Netflix in India because it’s cheaper—flights can also be cheaper when purchased in certain countries.

Here’s a comparison between two similar platforms:

    -SkyHunt – Just 3 Steps:

    1. Enter your departure, destination, and travel dates. SkyHunt searches flight prices in 30 countries simultaneously. 2. Use a VPN to connect to the country offering the lowest price. 3. Purchase your ticket.

    - Other platform - 30 stepts at least

    1. Enter your departure, destination, and travel dates. Search for the best prices in Spain. 2. Review prices for Spain.

    3. Connect to VPN in India 4. Re-enter your departure, destination, and travel dates. Search for the best prices in India. 5. Review prices for Indi

6-30. Repeat the last three steps for 15+ additional countries to find the cheapest ticket.

    31. Compare all prices to identify the cheapest country. 32. Use a VPN to connect to the country with the lowest price. 33. Purchase your ticket.

With SkyHunt, you avoid unnecessary effort and get the best deal in a fraction of the time.
